translate srt files

Would be great to translate srt files instead of uploading an audio/video every time. For example, I have an srt file in English for a video. Rather than uploading that same video to do in another language would be good to just take the srt file and translate it to Mandarin

Use translation on my srt file

I used your fantastic tool to create a captions file but then exported into Camtasia and then realized I need to make changes which were done in Camtasia. I now what to get the translation but it needs to be on the changes in a "new" srt file not what was originally captioned. Is there a way to do this? Can I reimport the srt file?
Thanks

It would be great! We translate our subtitles as well and we do not have a chance to do it e.g. on paper and than proofread with video, because we would have to upload the video again, which does not make really a sense.
So for me, it would be great to add a feature which would give us a chance while uploading your .srt file to connect it with an already existing video on happyscribe, without having to upload the video again.

Translating for imported subtitles' files

From my testing, if I import an .srt file, the Translate button doesn't work.
I have no problem using up my credits by having Happy Scribe convert the videos again, uploading from Dropbox. But I don't want to have to edit them all again!
After I pay Happy Scribe to process the video, I would like to be able to Replace the Subtitles by importing my previously corrected .srt files, and then be able to Translate the subtitles into other languages.
I can do this now with Premiere's plugin Subtitle Pro, but I prefer the HS interface and being able to ask native speakers to do an editing pass.
Thanks.

agree with this! Would be great to translate srt files!

I just discovered this "shortfall" as well. I was very happy to see the recent feature update that allows us to "Import Subtitles" of our own. However, to be honest, this upgrade is useless if we can't do language translations in the subtitles editor interface. I mean... we already have our own fully-edited srt files in the primary language of the video, so we really don't need the subtitles editor to more editing in the same language. What makes HappyScribe so great (imo), is that it gives us the ability to create captions in multiple languages.
I have tons of videos that I want to upload to HappyScribe, with transcripts and srt files that have already been fully edited. What we need is to be able to leverage the (editing) work we have already done, and then use HappyScribe to translate everything into multiple languages that can then by manually edited/corrected in the other translated languages.
Please, please prioritize this!

Doug Lietz: Agree 100%. This is a huge shortfall for me... I hope it's something they are working on.
