We've reskinned the email notifications sent when inviting or sharing files and folders, along with adjustments to the rules for when each email is sent. The primary rule change is that when sharing a file with someone outside the workspace, we no longer send the "Invited to Workspace" email unless the user is added to the workspace in a second step.
Key Details:
- File/Folder sharing with non-workspace users:If you share a file with someone not in the workspace, they are added as a guest, and only a "Shared with You" email is sent. The "Invited to Workspace" email is no longer sent automatically.
- Adding users to workspace: If, after sharing a file, the user is also added to the workspace in a second step, both the "Shared with You" email and the "Invited to Workspace" email are sent.
- Pending invites change: Previously, the "Shared with You" email was not sent if the user was not part of the workspace, and only the "Invited to Workspace" email was triggered. Now, it works the opposite way—only the "Shared with You" email is sent in such cases.
This update provides more clarity and reduces redundant emails, ensuring users receive the appropriate notifications at the right time.
